We're excited to announce the launch of Ask0, an open source AI chat platform for your documentation, websites, and content.
Why Open Source Ask AI?
Developer documentation has evolved dramatically over the past decade, but one thing hasn't changed: users still struggle to find the information they need. Traditional search falls short, and existing AI solutions come with high costs and vendor lock-in.
That's why we're building Ask0.
The Problem with Existing Solutions
Tools like Inkeep and Kapa.ai have shown the power of AI-powered documentation assistants, but they come with significant drawbacks:
- High costs: Enterprise pricing that scales unpredictably with usage

Our Vision

The entire codebase is open source and available at github.com/ask0ai/ask0. You can inspect the code, contribute improvements, and customize it for your needs.
2. Free for Open Source
Open source projects deserve free tools. Self-host Ask0 at no cost, or use our cloud offering which starts at $0 and only charges $10 per 1,000 messages as you scale.
3. Own Your Data
Self-hosting means your documentation and user interactions stay on your infrastructure. No third-party data processing, no surprises.
